Ellucian Colleague

Colleague, by Ellucian, is McDaniel’s administration information system and is used to do the business of the College. 

For example:

  • Student registration, class schedules, grading, transcripts, and graduation
  • Financial and business services - accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, budgeting, etc.
  • Financial aid
  • Human resources

Employees who need to perform work in Colleague must be approved for access by their supervisor and the office that owns that particular student, employee, or financial information. This type of work is typically referenced in the employee's job description and supervisors can make a request for access for an employee through the Help Desk.

Any employee approved for a Colleague account, can access the system by using the Colleague UI link in the Quick Links section of the My McDaniel Portal.

All Colleague training for department specific workflow and data entry procedures will be provided by the employee's department of employment. In addition, Information Technology has purchased Ellucian’s Knowledge Pro Educational Training Suite. This suite of online trainings allows employees to learn more about the Colleague products that are available and learn how we can improve efficiency and better utilize the products we own. The institutional data that is stored in the Colleague database should not be released internally or externally without proper approval. McDaniel security policies for confidential student and employee data can be found at FERPA and HIPAA.
